A Feeling
“What’s wrong, Rebecca? You look upset,” he asked gently, though his voice had a defensive edge. She took a deep breath, bracing herself. “I can’t shake the feeling that there’s something not right between you and Anna.”
His face darkened. He stood up quickly, fists clenched at his sides. “What are you talking about? Anna is like a mother to me. There’s nothing wrong with that,” he snapped. But Rebecca could feel the walls closing in—and she wasn’t so sure anymore.
