The team set up
The team moved carefully, placing the containment box around the glass without making sudden movements. The lid was built to slide open and snap shut in one motion—simple in design, but requiring perfect timing. George hovered nearby, eyes narrowed in concentration. “Easy now, we don’t want to startle it,” he said softly, cautioning the team not to act hastily.
The box slid into place beside the trembling glass, its lid angled and ready. Martha’s eyes flicked between the creature and the rescue team, hardly daring to blink. “Is it going to work?” she whispered, unsure if she was asking George, herself, or the universe. George gave the smallest of nods, his eyes locked on the creature. “It has to,” he replied, more to himself than anyone else.
