George took charge
Despite his earlier hesitation, George now stepped forward with newfound authority. “Alright, here’s the plan,” he said, raising his voice so everyone could hear. “We need to get it into the containment box in one motion. No room for mistakes.” He motioned toward the tools the team had brought in and began assigning roles with precision.
“You,” he said, pointing to one responder, “get the box ready. You, secure the edge of the glass the second we lift it.” The responders nodded quickly, their movements sharp and confident. Martha, still holding on, glanced at George, her fear now laced with a small flicker of hope. Finally, someone was taking control of the nightmare she had been trapped in.
