“Sale” Signs Without Actual Discounts
Bright red “SALE” signs grab attention—but not all of them mean you’re saving money. Some items are labeled with sale tags even when the price hasn’t changed, or when the original price is artificially inflated just before the “discount.”
This deceptive practice is designed to trigger impulse buying by creating a false sense of urgency. It’s completely legal if the price is listed—but it’s far from ethical. Smart shoppers should check unit prices or compare with regular tags on nearby items to avoid falling for fake deals.
