Lead to the Warehouse
The family’s only concrete clue about Nyx’s past was that he had been found near an old, abandoned warehouse on the town’s outskirts. “We should check it out,” Ethan said eagerly, unable to hide his curiosity. Mr. Johnson agreed after a brief pause. “It’s our best lead so far,” he said seriously. They packed flashlights, snacks, and a first-aid kit, treating the trip as both an investigation and an adventure.
Alex was excited. “It’s like a treasure hunt!” he exclaimed, trying to lighten the mood. Grace, however, made sure everyone understood the seriousness. “We stay together, no wandering,” she said firmly. As much as the idea of exploring an old building thrilled them, it also carried a sense of fear. They hoped whatever lay waiting at the warehouse would bring them closer to the answers they’d been searching for.
