No Matches Found

Dr. Morgan stared at the screen as it flashed: “No Match Found.” He refreshed the database and tried again, then again—still nothing. His heart rate picked up slightly. There was no entry in domestic canine records that matched the sample. The fur didn’t belong to any known breed or mixed lineage. He rubbed his temples, feeling a strange mix of frustration and growing alarm.

He opened a secondary database, this one for unusual veterinary cases, hoping for even a loose connection. “Come on, there has to be something,” he whispered. But every search led to another dead end. The more he looked, the more he realized this wasn’t going to be easy—or normal.
