A Tense Arrival

As they walked into the clinic, Nyx’s body stiffened. His muscles tensed, and his eyes darted from wall to wall, tracking every movement. Mr. Johnson tried to soothe him with a gentle pat, whispering, “It’s okay, boy. You’re alright.” The receptionist smiled and commented on Nyx’s striking appearance, but her kind tone didn’t seem to calm him.

Ethan leaned toward his parents and whispered, “Do you think he knows something’s about to happen?” Mrs. Johnson gave a small shrug, her lips tight with worry. The air inside the clinic was thick with tension, and everyone could sense that today wouldn’t be an ordinary vet visit.
